Empress Waxing & Healing is a private, women-only beauty salon in Griffin, Brisbane, created by experienced beauty therapist Saoirse Hatzidis.
For Saoirse, beauty therapy has never simply been about how someone looks. It's about how a woman feels when she walks back out the door — relaxed, cared for and a little more confident in herself.
And after almost 30 years in the beauty industry, it's something she still genuinely loves doing.
Almost 30 years of beauty, from Christchurch to Griffin
Saoirse's career in beauty began in Christchurch, New Zealand, where she graduated from the National School of Aesthetics in 1996. From there, her career took her around the world.
She travelled extensively and worked internationally, gaining experience in different salons, treatments and approaches to beauty along the way. Her career even took her to London, where her clientele included high-profile names such as Kate Moss.
But despite the glamorous moments, what Saoirse has always loved most about beauty therapy is much simpler: making women feel good about themselves.
Today, she brings decades of experience into every treatment at Empress Waxing & Healing, combining highly developed technical skills with the warmth and personal care of a private salon.
Facials that feel as good as they look
Facials are one of Saoirse's favourite treatments to perform. She believes beautiful skin shouldn't be approached as a production line. Every woman's skin is different, which is why treatments at Empress are personalised to what your skin needs on the day.
From restoring hydration and radiance to supporting ageing skin, each facial combines carefully selected skincare with beautiful massage techniques and time to genuinely switch off.
The result is a treatment designed to leave your skin looking refreshed while you leave feeling restored too.
Waxing with experience, comfort & confidence
Waxing — and particularly Brazilian waxing — is another area Saoirse is passionate about. With decades of experience, she understands that intimate waxing requires much more than technical skill. It requires trust, discretion and the ability to make someone feel completely comfortable in what can otherwise feel like a vulnerable situation.
There is no judgement and no awkwardness.
Just an experienced female therapist who has been doing this for years and wants you to walk away feeling comfortable, smooth and confident in your own skin.
An hour that is entirely your own
Saoirse is also fully qualified in Reiki Healing, bringing another dimension to the philosophy behind Empress Waxing & Healing.
Her approach recognises that taking care of yourself isn't purely about appearance. Sometimes a treatment is also an opportunity to slow down, release some of the stress you're carrying and have an hour that is entirely your own.
It's this combination of experience, beauty, healing and genuine human connection that sits at the heart of Empress.

Empress Waxing & Healing is proudly a women-only beauty salon. It was intentionally created by women, for women — a private and welcoming space where clients can feel comfortable receiving everything from facials and beauty treatments to intimate waxing.
We want every woman who visits Empress to feel safe, respected and completely at ease.
